When Eliza Grey holds the antique moonstone ring she found on the beach beneath Rosecliff Manor, she knows the ring has a story. Unsure if she’s ready to tackle another ghostly mystery so soon, Eliza chooses to focus on her latest assignment for The Coventry Gazette—a feature article on the O’Cleary family and the Chateau de Paradis, Coventry’s very own Gilded Age mansion.

Teaming up with her loyal sidekick, Murphy, Eliza engages the help of Siobhan O’Cleary, daughter of the mansion’s modern-day owners, to explore the opulent chateau and dive into their family history. A tour of the house reveals three things—the moonstone ring once belonged to someone who lived there long ago, the O’Cleary family has had their share of scandals, and Siobhan has secrets of her own, including a troubled marriage.

As a determined Eliza investigates deeper into the story behind the enigmatic ring, she finds herself entangled amid two ghosts—one seeking her help, the other thwarting the truth.

Eliza will uncover more of the O’Cleary family secrets than she bargained for. With threads of deceit and danger tightening around her, Eliza must reveal the story behind the ring before a deadly history repeats itself. Will she unearth the secrets of the Chateau in time? Or will shadows of the past make this the last story she ever writes?

With the assistance of an unlikely group of friends and her new furry sidekick, a Great Pyrenees named Murphy, Eliza unearths Honor’s truth.

But peeling away the layers of a 200-year-old mystery isn’t easy. Especially when Eliza uncovers a web of deceit leading back to the town’s mayor, who not only thwarts her investigation of the past but endangers her present.

About Judith

Judith Cosby is an independent author who has blended her passion for storytelling, spirituality, and history into a diverse writing career. After a journey of writing spiritually-themed short stories and memoirs, including the successful Threads, Spirit Threads, and Weaving Threads of Gratitude that showcase her ability to weave personal insights with broader divine themes, she has shifted genres.

Judith has transitioned to the world of fiction with her paranormal mystery series. The first book, The Attachment, An Eliza Grey Mystery, marks a thrilling new chapter, intertwining the past and present into a suspenseful narrative. The next installment in the series is anticipated for Fall 2024.

Before diving into her writing career full-time, Judith worked in Human Resources and took a hiatus to raise her two daughters. Now fully dedicated to writing, she resides in Massachusetts with her husband, Craig, and their beloved pets: Jameson Bond, their tuxedo cat, and Maggie Mae and Tobin, their Great Pyrenees

 She is currently a proud member of the Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) and Writer Unboxed (WU) and has experienced wonderful connections and instruction from writing retreats such as the “When Words Count Retreat.” Judith has been a featured guest on the Healing Voices Project podcast and yWrite Podcast. Her greatest joy has been sharing her love of writing with the Young Author’s Clubs in various schools and as a guest speaker for Springfield College.
